We are pleased to announce our 2012 Ankona Cayenne! So, why the Cayenne? Its a design to run across more open waters with more “V” and freeboard at the forward entry tapering back to a zero degree deadrise tunnel stern to run over extended shallow waters. Length is 16′ 11” with a 71” beam. Wide walk around gunnels, large uncluttered front deck and clean molded finished cockpit interior space. Twin stern hatches with the port side a standard 20 gal live well ready for plumbing.
Now tunnel skiffs haven’t been noted for a great ride or being a great poling skiff. We’ve only been working on this hull for 2 years and feel its ride and poling attributes are nothing less than exceptional for any skiff and definitely at the top for any tunnel design.
Just a note about tunnels.. most mfg’s say they can put a tunnel insert into their skiff mold and build you a tunnel skiff. We can only say, if you have a skiff that performs at its best, you just can’t put an tunnel in it and expect the same
The Cayenne 17 has been designed, prototyped, tested, re-worked time and time again over the past 2 years as a tunnel skiff that offers the best ride and poling characteristics as any other tech skiff on the market.
